Wanting

When he walked in he was a man

When he left, I couldn’t tell

The lines on his face were new

But he was so, so old

Is age fate?

Or do we become our destiny?

Because something up in here’s messin’ with my vibe;

Messin’ up me

If the future is the past

Is now yesterday?

Because every new thing I pass

Wanting yesterday.
