War

This red, wet liquid covers my hands like gloves. The fire burns and murders innocent people. Young children scream for the lost of their mothers and fathers. Tears shed on the surviving. The destruction, the chaos, its overwhelming. The sound of gunshots and canons make me jump. I scream out 'Take me away from this hell!' I turned around with a gun pointed at my head. As my last tear sheds down my face, I look into its eyes and ask it 'Why?'. It tells me 'because its my civic duty'. I close my eyes, then it pulls the trigger. Nothing… I'm still alive, breathing, walking. My eyes open to see it with a bullet hole. The body plops onto the ground and I look around to see where and who made the shot. Cautiously, I walk over the unconscious body and I walk until I can find a better world.
