War
The sound of a gun awakes me in the night,
So cold, so alone startled with a fright,
I hide, hide away from the men with guns,
So frozen I can’t even reach my dad’s handgun,
You see war is a cruel and powerful beast,
Only the rich men benefit from this blood beast,
The government does not realize the effect that this has on us,
We try to live our lives without a fuss,
But how can we with the gunshots, the fires, the racism and slurs we hear,
The moment I see a confederate flag, I am struck with fear,
People need to be treated equally, all men, women, black, white, everyone
Peace needs to flood us because I cannot stand another night hearing those guns.
War needs to end, and we must all stand together,
I don’t want to see smoke and fire I want to see blue skies as the weather,
So I end this saying, forget everything we have done in the past,
Let us look forward to the future and never again let it get so bad so fast.
