War
Neither of us knew how to love,
and so, went to war instead.
I thought love was easy, until it wasn’t.
I thought I could give endlessly,
until I couldn’t.
I thought we could save each other,
until we both escaped in our own ways.
I thought I was fine,
until I was triggered.
I thought I could be the rock for us,
until I crumbled.
I thought I knew how to love,
until we went to war.
