War
I go to battle everyday,
Not with criminals or terrorists, no.
My opponent is much closer to me.
Every turn I make it's there
Whispering in my ear that I am nothing.
Everything I do it dissects me.
Happiness comes, but is gone in an instant.
There's nothing I can do!
Things come but quickly disappear.
There are no more tears left to cry,
Everything is leaving.
Love, what is love? because I surely don't have any.
It takes without caring,
It came so suddenly,
It's here to stay.
There's nothing I can do!
Oh so many thoughts cross my mind because of you.
To end your power over me is what I desire.
It is you I want to stop,
You, who is doing this,
You, that I hate!
What is "it" that I am up against?
I am at War with myself
And there's nothing I can do.
