This War
We’re all fighting this war, some for far longer than others, there are those that are strong, and those that are weak, it all depends on each one’s ability, the will to survive, the determination to strive, others who give up, let go of everything they once cared for, it all comes crashing down, these mirror shards, they don’t even bother to pick them up, much less put them back together, they walk away instead, and in the end, when they realize what it is that they have done, they grieve, weep and whine, but for what? there’s no point, not anymore, they didn’t make the right move when they were supposed to, and now, that everything’s gone, they bleed for the past, their open wounds, all their memories, it is the salt, and the cuts burn and sizzle with the utmost unbearable pain, and yet, it’s sad to say that they still don’t learn, more and more just comes spiraling down, they lose the little control that’s left, vanishing into the depths of darkness, where the only light of hope is even extinguished, they begin to lose themselves in these dark murky alleys, not knowing where to go anymore, everything is just shadows, misshapen, nothing is definite, nor is it tangible, they want to fly, fly away into this realm of “perfection,” not knowing that truly they are setting up their own end, even a second or third time, it’s not like they realize, they walk right into everything, and are hit once again, square in the chest, with yet more unbearable pain, will they ever learn? it’s hard to tell, they might or might not, but it won’t make a difference, cuz then, it will really be too late, and that will be the very moment when they will have to realize that the right turn should have been taken instead of the left, and as much as they try, they won’t be able to put themselves back together, cuz they will have been lost at that point, that war they were fighting, it defeated them in the long run, they were too slow to know, now that their eyes have finally opened up, they weep yet even more, wishing that they had listened then, and saved themselves from the horrors of now, but it’s too late, too young to know, they thought their future was laid out for them, but when in reality, they were the ones to create that future, these children were misguided, promised perfection, but didn’t get any of it, instead, they roam these streets like that of the living dead, with no purpose in life whatsoever, or at least, that is what they have come to believe, they have ended it all for themselves, only if they knew that there is still so much more, just let go of the past and start anew, it can be better, only if you want it to, so come, take my hand, and I will guide you, cuz you are not alone, there are many like you, sure things have been lost, but they can be brought back, just don’t lose hope like that, keep it all with you and win this war in the end
