War
A play of bodies as souls watch on, the body is there while the soul is gone.
Ripped apart by a scene so raw, face to face with war's gaping maw. the souls return but no longer fit, neither body nor soul was made for this shit.
The souls don't fit like they once knew, now they wish they'd been the ones that flew. a jealous rage toward the ones they slew, as they've moved on to a world anew.
And as they sit and think on this, they never thought they'd start to miss, that dance of bodies through the mist.
So once more they join that ride, secretly hopping they're not the winning side. And as he watched two front lines collide, the soul sat back, smiled, and sighed, for he saw his body had died.
Unrestricted the soul now flew, to unseen places, that world anew.
