War Names

they call me a soldier of war.
a defender of peace, and a fighter of justice
but the one thing they shall never see is those we lost in honor.

they call me a doctor of hurt.
a healer of pain, and a fixer of souls
but they will never hear the screams they cry in the midst of the night.

they call me a dead man,
a decoy if you will, and a body on the field
but they will never feel the earth spin so slowly under the bloody night sky.

they call me the enemy
the man to be shot down,
but they will never know the truth of that fact that this war started all because of them.

these are our war names,
and what we often call ourselves.
but we all know one thing, we will fight till the last man is down.
