The War Sport

‘Modern Myths’

Driving to the rim with raw fury,

Ares, the god of war, scores yet again.
The Greek god of war, yes, but also the god of basketball.

Spearing his way to the hoop,

Ares scores yet again.

With a triumphant smile Ares shoots the ball,

Sending it to Zeus’ realm before it crashes back down into the basket.

Ares didn’t have a team or a phalanx,

Since nobody would get to touch the ball anyway.

This didn’t bother Ares though,

He preferred to play alone anyways!
