The War Within

The bittersweet smell of the oil,

the life of my own and others gone in an instant.

The burning of the fire,

churning in my stomach.

Barely able to sleep,

waking with illness.

Blood on my arms,

death in my mind.

Meditating on instinct,

not knowing when I will die.

Not knowing when I will die,

meditating on instinct.

Death in my mind,

blood on my arms.

Waking with illness,

barely able to sleep.

Churning in my stomach,

the burning of the fire.

The life of my own and others gone in an instant,

the bittersweet smell of the oil.
