Warm
The wind blows my hair as the ice in the air stings my nose
My sweater I sold before meeting the cold in land so bare
In such a short time I'd spent my last dime and scattered my gold
Now I look around from the sky to the ground wasting time
In the distance a home waits inviting and warm without sound
I start to tire as I imagine a fire not a storm
I don't belong and it would be wrong to aspire
I left that life with a stab from a knife and so long
If I could return with the lessons I've learned and leave strife
Oh what I'd give if only I could live out that turn
It would be quite a walk but I know once we talk they'll forgive
Could I repair what I've done? would I dare on that door to knock?
They'll take me back I know but to make myself go after I did err
I feel so unclean and I know they have seen me cause woe
I want to grow and become something more than I've been
I cannot hide from myself so I swallow my pride and go home
