Warm

Because our love is crinkle-eyed smiles

     lounging on the porch

     perfumed by jasmine

Because our love is warm cinnamon

     saying thank you

     and meaning it

Because our love is comfy sweaters and bad puns

     late night discussions

     of philosophy and The Beatles

Because our love is family dinners

     driving with the windows down

     watching clouds roll in

Because our love is raincoats and movie tickets

     saying "drive safely

text me when you get home"

Because our love is ours, not mine or yours

Because saying "I love you" doesn't feel like a chore

Because you let me belong to myself

Because

love

you
