Warm Arms

You think you’re all good,

That you’re living the dream.

You got it all planned.

And you’re never too mean.

But then you wake up

And it hits you inside.

You’ve been living a lie

You’re not even fine.

You turn in despair

And you can’t even scream

You want to get out,

But there’s no way to leave

Because depression hurts

And anxiety lies

And they tear you down

Like a bomb from the skies.

The destruction’s too much

As you sink to your knees

If you believe it or not,

The words are, “God please.”

You beg to be saved

You don’t want to live

You say, “Take it away,”

But they force the gift.

It turns in your soul

You’re lost on the path

You try to say “Help,”

But it’s all aftermath.

You stumble through life,

Barely living each day.

When you decide you're done

Is when you’re finally saved.

Warm arms hold you close

And you cry in embrace

They don’t say a word

And you don’t see a face.

But they’re finally here

Where you want them to be

And as you fall asleep

You’re finally free.
