Warmth
A cold winter's night
stars shining bright
Frost bite attacks;
outside in the cold
In the chilling ice fires
Thinking of somewhere soft and warm
A place to lay their weary heads
No place to go
Out in the cold
Help is what they require
To escape those ice fires
The cold so cold that burns at the touch
One blanket, just one
And a pillow to go along
A soft cloud for which to rest upon
Everyone who is freezing
Everyone who is alone
Needs a bed, a blanket
A warm utopia for rest
This cold world,
Filled with sparkling ice
Just needs one blanket
For every shivering soul
With no comfort and no sleep
No rest from winters so bleak
Just one blanket to keep warm
Just one pillow to cushion heads
Just one mattress to comfort forms
To stave off the cold
And bring hope
Hope for warmer nights
Hope for rest from their plight
Finally, they can say good night
A perfect change for the world
So simple and lovely
Is the gift of warmth
From those trembling misty nights
To those victims of frost and ice
