Warmth and Waves
I jump as her cold fingers reach for my toes
and squeel when she reaches me
she pulls me in and pushes me playfully
but never knocking me down
and when we've had enough we lay down together
and the hot sun beats down on us
the warmth I swear goes straight to my soul
but never so hot as to burn
I can hear her voice from a mile away
calling for me to come down
calling my name with her voice soft and kind
like a mother calls her children back home
and home is where I am with her
and I pray that I never must leave
but at the end of the day when the sun goes down
we have to part ways for the night
but as soon as the sun rises up on the town
she reflects it with all shades of pink
and I make my way down to her quick as I can
for another day at the beach.
