Warrior

I remember the click of your book bag as you tried to release yourself of the baggage you relentlessly carried You were a warrior before going to Marines You were a warrior because God made you that way He made you beautiful, and strong, and in so many ways gentle Gentle enough to pick me flowers when I'm down Yet strong enough to hold me up You're a believer...a stress reliever A physical form of Xanax If your love was my drug, I would be addicted Dreams of you parade in my mind Only the shade of the sun can wake me up As I peek through the first signs of life each morning I remember you and the blessings he gave us Each other Your mother, must be proud Proud to have a son like you A man of conviction and truth She raised you and everyday I envy her Waiting for the day, that I can pick up where she left off And continue to raise you...
