Warrior

Dear Warrior,

I know. You don’t have to say anything, I know.

I know how tired you are.

I know the goal you seek is still too far.

It’s okay now, the fight is over, you made it. YOU made it. Take a breath, breath in all that is around you.

Your battle scars are worn and your muscles are fading, I know the thought is scathing, but you must stop fighting.

Sheath your sword for the battle is won, and the sun is setting on your tale, this is where you become legend, this is where generations to come will be become inspired by your victory over adversity and relate to your humble beginnings.

I know this to be certain, I will you tell your tale to whomever may listen, because I have been there for it all.

You never knew but I saw the fear in your eyes as you smiled at new challenges and obstacles.

I saw your tattered and mangled body when you removed your armor, I know every cut and bruise for I helped you clean your wounds.

I was there when you cried yourself to sleep because the idea that you MUST be the hero was too much for you.

So you can rest easy now, for you have won the war, you need not still prove yourself to others.

For everyone shall know what a hero my mother was.

Sincerely, Your Apprentice
