THE WARTH OF HURRICANE HARVEY

THE WRATH OF HURRICANE HARVEY

The skies opened
and it poured and thundered
the people cried
as their homes went under

scared and anxious
calling loved ones names
life as they knew it
would never be the same

Held captive as
floods took control
what happens in the end
we still don't know

But we all pulled together in the rain
through the sweat and the tears and the pain

Differences, put aside, because we care
One Nation holding strong, doing our share

For days on end,
the wind and rain would not stop
for every rooftop left
the people stood on top

Carrying pets and babies
holding hands
never thought anything like this
was in their plans

As our great states
Prayed to GOD "Please shed the light"
and get the people out
from this scary sight

But then we all pulled together in the rain
through the sweat and the tears and the pain

Differences, put aside, because we care
One Nation holding strong, doing our share
