Was Am Will Be

I see a small child

She has potential that shows through

Making her unstoppable

Believing she has what it takes

Making life her sanctuary of support for herself

Ignoring all the hate and negativism

Music holding her head to the sky

Lifting her higher and higher to become a women

Everything comes crashing down

New look

But new judgments come with it

People throwing balls of fire at her

She laughs

Laughing at their “joke”

Deep down she’s crumpling to pieces

Struggling to pick them up

And put them back fast enough for the next blow

Tranquility

One by one thing fall into place

A friendly face helping her pick up the pieces

People see her changing

Mouth drop in awe

As the girl they once teased

Transforms into an angle of beauty

More envy than hate

She is no longer bowing down to the demons

The roles have been switched

For now they bow in respect

And her life is back in her grasp
