Was It Worth It?

Here we are at a crossroads
I stop by to return your things
I don’t want to keep them
Or the memories they bring…

Now here I am at your place…
You know I can’t look you in your eyes
You lift my head, kiss me softly,
And there I meet my demise

I want to be angry with you
But every wall is destroyed
I want to move on
But without you there’s a void

You whisper to me,
Breath smelling heavily of jack
You awaken my senses,
And a flame follows as you trace the planes of my back

Everything in me says leave,
He’s drunk, just turn away
But memories of the love we made return
I ignore my intuition and I stay

You take my hand
Leading me to the bed
We knows what each other wants
With no words being said

Ecstasy-
Elated bliss
Tingling nerves
With every kiss

The flames die down
And now our tryst is done
But now that’s its over
I realize it shouldn’t have begun

Like in the end of a drunken stupor
Shame and anger began to emit
And you start to wonder…
Was it even worth it
