This Was Never Meant to Be a Forever Thing
Dear Old Friend,
Beauty of a friendship gone in an instant, it was really quite deranged.
Love in the moment, hate in the year.
Everything has changed.
And now that light is no longer here.
Should we hate what we don’t understand?
Like the people around us who don’t truly see us.
Leave behind us the people we once cared for, but now we can’t stand.
It all seems strange now, was I only making a fuss?
You used to make me laugh, like a hyena in a pack.
Now you make me cry as I think of who we once were.
We have lost our way, the love we now lack.
We have changed, grew apart, and that’s okay, because losing you I no longer fear.
If only I could show you what you helped me see.
That not all friendships are a forever thing, that this friendship was not meant to be.
