Was There
Was there any love in your heart?
Love that flowed through your veins?
Was there love for me from the start?
Something that could protect me from the pain?
Was there any care for her,
when you decided she was more?
Did you ever stop before,
and think about any form of cure?
The lies came to the surface.
The truth crushed by sadness.
Was there any purpose,
to your madness?
Am I insane,
and waiting for an answer?
Or have I simply lost my brain,
and become a cell of cancer?
It seems so wrong,
to wait to be me.
It wasn't long,
when the time came to flee.
I stayed and waited.
Wondering, "Was there any love?"
I stood and contemplated,
if I should try to fly away like a lonely dove.
