Was there love?

My laugh comes flocking when I meet your gaze

The confidence that sprouts from the wisps of conversation

Your voice in the crowds is one I seek without hesitation

Being lost in in my worries, to be led out by you from the maze

It is the time I give to you that I give up from own

The tears your shoulder catches in the moonlight

The conversations we continue when we reunite

It is the love a friend that kept me away from being alone

Yet solitude itself was the outcome of my loss

I tried to atone, yet your response was to incriminate

Resolutions to fix our strains, all from my lie

My prayers for our friendship meant nothing to a cross

Regardless of what you said, I longed to negotiate

Yet were we really friends if it all dissolved with a bye?
