Washing My Soul

The warm water washes over my body

I close my eyes and breath in

I stand there for what seems like a taste of forever

Trying to wash away my sins

I am a great pretender

Everyday I wear a smile upon my face

But in this solitude I am free

There is no need to hide the pain

Does it make me weak to cry behind the veil of a shower curtain?

I may always look strong on the outside but inside sometimes I'm hurtin

Naked and free I cry sometimes

while standing in the shower

I'm not ashamed to admit

I do

My tears, they give me power

They give me strength to face another day

Thats why I'm not ashamed

I cry alone in my shower

Cuz few could handle my pain

Alone and free I cleanse my soul of all the drama of this earth

I do my best thinking in the shower

It is there I find self-worth

When I shower I wash my soul

Not just my outer shell

I don't want dirt to build up on it

Because  the dirt would keep me down if I fell

The warm water washes over my body

I close my eyes and breath in

I stand there for what seems like a taste of forever

Trying to wash away my sins
