Washington Wilderness
Crystal reflective water,
Looming winter’s snow caressing mountaintops,
Undisturbed stones wading gracefully,
Sapphire sky meeting cobalt lakes,
Water’s soft embrace with the bank is that of a mother meeting her child,
Fairy tale like contrast characterizes the mountains and sea,
Sound’s existence dwindles significantly,
Smells of fresh seat water whisks through trees like orange peels in the disposal,
Lakes as smooth as a hot knife through butter,
Seasons change without warning,
Sunshine blazes the hilltops,
Desolate mountains touch sky elegantly,
Prehistoric glaciers once roamed the lands,
Untouched by humans leaves perfect landscape,
Constant gradient distinguishes land from sea,
Luminescent silence throughout.
