wasted love

Hearing the distant arguments of my mother and father in the other room

and feeling the tears falling from sisters faces onto mine while they hold

me to comfort me. I remember the night seeing the flashing red and blue

lights and hearing the struggle of my father not knowing where or why he

is going. Only knowing the faces of my sisters because my mom is working

endless nights to provide for us. One day I saw my mom smile for the

first time and hearing her laugh not knowing she can be so happy. Something

was different we moved to a more safer place with a man who made my mom

content. Days passed and he shows his true colors a short tempered man who

lacks compassion. Having no way out, eight years my sisters and I come home

where we are always filled with anxiety not knowing if he will snap. We always

questioned ourselves if we were the problem. As my sisters and I got older we

began to realize things that we didn't when we were younger. This man has not

only put me and my family through hell he taught me not to depend on anyone

or any man. He helped me perceive to be better than he ever was to me and my

family and made me become a stronger woman.
