Wasted Time

Day after day we tolerate our lives

Never stopping to appreciate them

We senseless fools only think of treasures

That are non-existent in our brief lives

Squandering our stout breath just to attain

The polished lives we already suppress

If we could only motivate ourselves

To perceive the life we already lead

We would ascertain that treasures we chase

Are the very things we seek to escape.
