With Watchful Eyes I Cannot Act

I cry. Seeing the faces of the afflicted. Dark like the night with lifeless eyes. The eyes burn through me. Angry. I am an observer. Without words I crowd to the front. Too painful to watch. How can this be. I cannot take a stand. The risk is far too great. I am drowning in the guilt Too scared to hear my own voice. Too broken to see them tear me down again. My fear has overcome my strength. It haunts me. The lost battle. They could have been saved.
