Watching From Heaven

Three beautiful boys were taken away, and not a comforting word was there to say. Our hearts now have an empty space, but we all know they are in a better place. So to fill the void in all the broken hearts, these boys know they must do their part. They will ask God to brighten the sun, and allow us to enjoy it until our own days are done. Yes it seems they were taken away all too soon, but they would not want us to live lives full of gloom. We must trust that they are in God's hands, and they are having the time of their lives in the Promised Land. It's okay to miss them; it's okay to cry. Just remember as angels, they've learned how to fly. Yeah, everyday we will miss them, and especially Friday nights. We will miss their smiling faces under those Friday night lights. But especially at game time, we all must trust that playing for these three boys is a definite must. They will always be with you, and always means forever. And forever is a bond not even death can sever. So just remember these beautiful boys are okay, and we will all see them again one day. And to you Swampcats on the field Friday night: Remember for these boys, you must fight the good fight. Tonight, run on the field in your orange and blue, and remember these boys are right beside you. They will be watching the game from Heaven tonight, but they will tell God to make the stars extra bright. They are probably playing a game of their own, but please remember you nor them are ever alone. God, and the angels are with them always. And those three boys are with us, even in the worst of days. God talked to me and said "It's going to be alright". Just remember that, Swampcats, as you bring home that win tonight. In memory of Cody Hall, Cody Parnell, and Jesse Parnell.

I wrote this poem after three young men were killed in a horrific car accident nearly three years ago.
