water

a bead of water landed on my lap

this morning and i watched it fall

as if it were frozen, seconds slowed,

making it look like snow

gently drifting through space.

It bounced softly and I stared into the

translucent globe, thought I was watching

the world. I saw the light reflect a rainbow

off the sphere shaped force field. I

leaned in and it slipped, spilled

down my leg and disintegrated just how

my world will one day disappear.

But today we are here, waiting,

letting the earth slowly spin us

like we too are in slow motion.
