Water
Water remembers.
It lives beneath our skin,
carried through every heartbeat,
walking beside us
every waking moment.
Water remembers our first breath,
the tears we tried to hide,
the laughter that escaped
before we could stop it.
It remembers every smile,
every goodbye,
every hand we've held,
every moment we've let slip away.
Maybe that's why rivers never truly stop—
they carry pieces of us
long after we've forgotten ourselves.
Water remembers,
even when we don't.
