WATER

I was swimming
in a lake filling
with rain pouring
as I was shivering
from a wind blowing
I saw a plane flying
and a bomb dropping
and heard time ticking
as my heart was beating
so I tried saving
myself from dying
thank goodness for finding
a river so calming
a perfect place for hiding
where colors were blinding
and crickets were chirping
and the current was easing
my journey, now ceasing
as the bomb was exploding
far, but still deafening
permanently marking
my memory, but not scarring
as just when I was weakening
the river was calling
and I answered, no stalling
never regretting
the chance I was taking
the unknown I was entering
For if fate was ever breathing
In this moment, fate was reviving
