Water Cleanses

The grass between my toes,

arms tight, knees tucked.

My reflection, a horrid sight to see.

Pitiful puddle of loneliness and sorrow,

lacking all hope for a better tomorrow.

A greeting of wet chills,

meeting the very tip of my toe nails.

Awakening the truth out of me.

One step. Two steps. Waist fully submerged.

A feeling rushing through me, far beyond words.

Lying on a mattress of Indigo,

eyes intransigent from the stars

Smiling at me from up above.

I smile back, muscles loose and relaxed,

Forgetting all of which I thought I once lacked.

Floating in freedom and security,

happiness racing through my veins.

An unknown expanse of blue ridding me of my pains.

A new friend, a foundation for me when I’m down,

so thankful for my new AWESOME blue gown.

Without it I cannot breathe.

Without it I cannot see,

the AWESOME that lay within me.

My Awesome comes from it, a watery blue pit,

My friend. My rock. My cradle. My everything. My AWESOME!
