The water cycle

Imagine for a second ten-year-old me.

I was a square with rectangle glasses.

Sphere barrettes tangled in my hair

no care or concerns but filled with curiosity.

My skin was glowing my mind was clear man… those were the good days.

Eventually sun sets and the glow is gone

the skies of my mind are no longer clear

cumulonimbus clouds cover the space where the sun would shine

there is now rain.

I am sad. I am distraught I am confused.

The walls are crashing down around me but I’m too far from either to catch them.

Every day feels like a year the rain has turned into hail breaking the windows of my glass house

I’ve been defeated.

Head between my legs life between a rock and a hard place

I've been defeated.

Crowded by people and yet alone.

like being at a concert and not knowing the words.

Like pluto when he found out he wasn't a planet.

Like showing up to the movie theatre on time I am alone.

Finally, it stops I look up and she greets me.

Its been a while I’ve missed you.

Her warmth is so inviting her rays are so enlightening

I’ve missed you

I’ve missed us.

Why did you leave?

She says we all need a little rain to grow.
