Water Fountain
Sight is not accurate.
The free falling water like cotton
against the background of trees and bushes,
yet turns swamp green at the base of the fountain,
but we all know water is clear.
Perception is opinionated.
The fountain is a geyser with five smaller ones around it.
Like a firework it spreads out from its center.
Like a petticoat that made my dress form a perfect circle
or a weeping willow with its leaves reaching toward the ground.
Hearing is imperative.
Sitting next to the fountain,
the water almost whispers like rain,
the sound similar to a morning shower.
The trickling of the many droplets
drowns out the rest of the world.
