The Water Horse in a New World

A mystical, magical beast
The mane flows in the air
Dew drops scattered
Creature of the water

Oh, water,
Life's sustaining force
Nowadays, less of it to provide
People's throats growing hoarse

And still, the horse
beast rises

"Kelpie,"
They cry out
Being taken into shallow lochs,
Filthy, arid
Drowning nonetheless

"Kelpie,"
The cause of rising waters
Rising chants heard across the countries
Everyday people disappear
Suffering from drought

The beast tries to help,
Taking victims
to a new life underwater
But no one survives.
