Waters

Harsh roiling waters plan my demise.

Gasping for breath, clothes heavy and drenched,

I begin to weep and shut my eyes.

Utter sadness rolls over me, from my heart wrenched.

It's been so long since I've seen the sun,

I think as rain comes pouring down,

This ugly storm will never be done,

And it's left me tired and willing to drown.

I shiver in the cold. The water is frigid.

As the blackish clouds above me whirl,

Bitterness, like this saltwater, tries to finish,

To sink a guilty, heartbroken girl.

But a voice, so soft, a whisper from above,

Calms the storm and surrounds me with a sea of love.
