Waves

I want to

tell the ocean to carry me

where I belong

that she is beautiful

that she can do me no wrong

Maybe if I told the sky

to let me cry

in his arms

he would let me fly

and I wouldn't be so angry

at the Sun

for illuminating my sigh

and I wouldn't need to run

Perhaps if the moon

were always on my side

I wouldn't need to hide

in my comfortable cocoon

Yet when I confide

in the ocean that hugs me

She lets out a silent roar

then takes away my breath

and carries me back to shore
