Waves

Perhaps the saddest thing about life is not what has happened,

But what you know never will.

There’s closure for what went wrong,

For mistakes and broken hearts and fights

And even if there isn’t, waves of time will smooth the glass-sharp hurt of everything eventually

But what never will- that’s always there,

What drowns you in the end

Isn't the water but the absence of air

Waves of time that keep coming and coming and coming

But there’s nothing you can do except hold your head up and hope

For something you know will never arrive.

I try really hard to not write angsty stuff, but that seems to be a theme for me. I love painting and guitar, but writing’s pretty fun too!
