The Waves (Z to A)
The wave
crashing roughly into the sandy shore.
Children occupied themselves in the salty water
as their parents sunbathed in the scorching summer sun.
The waves
were the definition of summer.
The noisy seagulls squaked as they flew overheard like airplanes,
patiently waiting for the perfect chance to steal someone's potato chip.
The waves
constantly making their prescence known.
Sometimes more violent than others
but never failed to crash.
The waves
had a mind of their own, always independent.
Flowing in all directions everyday,
lonely as the sky turned dark and people vanished.
