Wavy

Almost fifteen.

She came home to a small boy and his family

and changed their lives.

Almost fifteen.

She rode with us to three different houses,

and more road trips than could ever be asked.

Almost fifteen.

She was the “sidecar”, the “vacuum”, and the “protector.”

She kept us safe from the squirrels, that chipmunk, and breezes.

Almost fifteen.

A cat, a younger pup came along too, but she kept her faith and stuck by.

If you could meet her, you’d realize she was the best.

Almost fifteen.

She was the reason they coined “man’s best friend.”

There will never be another dog quite like her.

Almost fifteen.

Come March,

I will have to swallow my tears that fourth day, and remember her with a smile.

Almost fifteen.

I love you,

Wavy.
