The Way

You have departed from my life
without my permission.
My light who guided the way.
You are remembered not by peoples' stories,
but by my memories.
Not by your faults,
but by your vibrance.
The way you cared and laughed.
The way you danced and enjoyed.
The way you carried on family traditions,
year after year.
I remember you for who you were,
an angel on Earth;
and now you are an angel in Heaven.
