The Way He Smiled At Me

He knew what he did

We both knew

That he had done

What he supposedly "didn't even intend to do."

But even if he hadnt't meant it

No words of apology ever passed his lips.

Because he felt like he didn't need to admit his guilt

Because he didn't feel any.

After all, people like him could do the crime

but serve no time

and that's just how it be.

But boy-oh-boy will I never forget

the way he smiled at me.
