The Way That I Flaw

May I get a moment of your time?

Do I not petition to you like the others?

Please, let me shed light on what flawless means to me.

It’s not what you say being better than another?

OH no!  I do not flaw the way most others.

I absorb the imperfection in me.

My beauty is preserved in the book of names.

I’m flawless no matter what. ‘His word says I Am’

Never mimicked trends or uttered social buzz

I’m flawless because I stand alone in my truth

head held vigilant, shoulders constricted, stilettoes self-assuredly

marching, demand the crown I humbly earn

I flaw with kinky curls, big afros, and faith.

I flaw because I am perfectly made, yet I know I’m not perfect.

I am myself, and that shall always be.

My tag, and the God I serve, believe.

It’s all a part of my flawless DECREE.
