The Way It Is
To love is to learn
And it is true that it must be learned
It starts with a judgment of curiosity
It ends with a kiss and a melody
So it goes on
She carries your baby then you carry her
Then she carries you in the dreams that you dream
It is not perfect if you don't cry in fright
It is not real if you have never had a fight
When you look at the wonders and see yourself with her
When she looks at the moon and knows that you're her muse
It is a hill that goes down and then up
It is the adrenaline that keeps you up at night
To love right is nonexistent
A mystery that is saved for a later night
As we lay and slumber
I know that it's you who I want to fight and love forever.
