The Way My Body Moves

If only I knew how I felt like how I know my body moves.

I would express the emptiness to you that flows through my veins like the way my body bends.

I would tell you about the sadness I hold inside myself like how one leg holds my weight as the other extends outwards and rises off the ground,

I would explain the confidence I lack in the energy that swims in my limbs,

the depression that fills my chest in an attitude turn,

the hunger I can never sedate in a calypso,

the passion I have to be better but no motivation to do so in a leap.

If only i knew my emotions like how I know my body because if I could explain to you the darkness I keep without words,

maybe you would understand me better.
