A Way to Remember. A Way to Forget.

My grandpa was Alzheimer's And didn't know the day of the week Let alone the last fifty years. I vowed to myself That I would find a way To always remember And never forget. I would not lose myself, No, not me. It started out as a way to remember. But after time It turned into a way to forget. When my friends disappeared, And my heart was broken, And the world ended I wrote my story Until my ink pen died. And then I closed my notebook And shoved it away. Like my story was over, And not just beginning.
