The way she loved
As I sit on the back porch, I sit and wonder how it happened.
I sit there and I wonder,
How did the girl who adored the world end up this way?
Everyone could see it in her, the light in her eyes, the liveliness in her smile,
She was madly in love with life, and life loved her back, for awhile.
But as the days went on, she started to listen to the words that she had been tuning out.
She started to give into the monster in the back of her mind and it tore her apart.
She went from truly loving herself, to absolutely destroying the walls she had worked so hard build. She sat on the back porch of her parents house, downing the third glass of vodka and drinking herself into oblivion. Her parents had given up on her, she had given up on herself, and most importantly life had given up on the girl who loved it the most. I sit on the back porch the vodka burning my throat, my eyes watering, I sit and wonder how I became that girl.
