Wayward Kite

These shackles that hold me down, I need to break My greatest desire is to be free - to take flight Mistakes all my own I wish to make But people try to control me, as you control a kite. I wasn't made to be stuck in one place Or to be told what to do So I hope to find solace In a land entirely new A whole world is waiting out there Just to be discovered and explored I can't take the risk - leave on a dare But the universe refuses to be ignored It calls to me Tempting with promises of beautiful people and sights I long to be free And fly away like a wayward kite
