We

We the Black People

We are in a state of emergency

No longer does the man need to kill us

We kill ourselves

We are in a state of emergency

We turn from school and turn to the streets

We kill ourselves

For the love of the money

We turn from school and turn to the streets

Our mothers home alone praying we’re safe

For the love of the money

We take from each other what little we have

Our mothers home alone praying we’re safe

While we’re smoking dope with the homies

We take from each other what little we have

We are being what we were called, ignorant “niggas”

While we’re smoking dope with the homies

Numbing the thought that we’re in a state of emergency
